The issue of climate change has alternatively received either hysterical reactions or blasé ignorance but neither of these would serve the needs of the planet’s ever burgeoning population or its hunger.
Envisioning a bleak future where a burning sun may sizzle out all food, or when the melting
ice may flood all crops aside, there are simple adaptive measures that can be taken to primarily ensure that food wastage is that much less, climate change or not.
Sri Lanka, from the days of yore, have had many practices in the agriculture sector which
sought to safeguard the crop production for the future. Today, with the advancement of science and technology, research has built on this expertise of farmers and many options are readily available.
